About Montana Llamas

We’re a small, family-run operation based in Missoula, Montana, where we raise and train with pack llamas in the heart of Big Sky Country. What started as a passion for backcountry adventures with our llamas has grown into something more—an opportunity to share one of the most underrated gifts these incredible animals produce: premium, garden-ready llama manure.

Llama manure—often called “Black Gold” by gardeners—is one of nature’s most balanced and low-maintenance fertilizers. Unlike other manures, it’s naturally low in ammonia, almost odorless, and safe to use fresh, dried, or brewed into compost tea. It won’t burn your plants and breaks down slowly, feeding your soil over time.

We process the pelletized manure right here in Montana! Our product is dried, ground, sifted, hand-packaged, and is 100% free of chemical additives. That means no fillers, no synthetic boosters—just pure, sustainable nutrition for your soil.

The result is easy application, minimal odor, and long-term effectiveness. Every bag is a clean, sustainable product from llamas we know by name—animals that live good lives in fresh air, open pastures, and mountain trails.

Whether you're a weekend gardener, a homesteader, or a small farm enthusiast, we’re proud to offer a product that supports healthy soil, strong plants, and smarter growing—all from the back of a llama.
